So, which is it? If the Avengers does really well on non-inflation-adjusted numbers, but poorly when inflation is taken into account, then this clearly implies that ticket prices (as a proportion of income) haven’t significantly increased. That’s exactly what inflation measures. If ticket prices were “insanely higher” today than they were in the time of, say, Gone With The Wind, then The Avengers would top both of the charts.
