Notes

The Egg McMuffin not only brought McDonald’s into the breakfast business, but also soon became as familiar a household name as Big Mac. Each of McDonald’s 15,000 domestic stores sells about 100 Egg McMuffins daily.

He was buddies with McDonald’s founder, the late Ray Kroc. And from their past get-togethers, he knew that Kroc loved eggs Benedict. [Herb Peterson] figured he could create a “poor man’s version” by replacing its pricey hollandaise sauce with a slice of American cheese.

The factual inspiration for my Eggs Benedict / Egg McMuffin comparison. It’s entertaining and educational!
