My lottery fantasy

If I won the lottery, or came into fantastical amounts of money via any other mechanism, I wouldn’t buy a big, fancy house, or build some piece of Grand Designs-esque oddball architecture. I would buy, or commission, an entire street of rather more humdrum, though upmarket, executive houses, each with plenty of room and with nice quality fittings. This close would be somewhere green on the very outskirts of Cardiff. Then I would give everyone of my friends one of those houses.

In the centre of the close would be a leisure centre of sorts. It would have a cinema room of some sort, and a swimming pool. A library. A bar, with French doors onto a patio area with barbeques and plenty of seating for summer parties.

That’s my lottery fantasy: not luxury, but comfort and companionship.
